DE 001: Driver's Refresher: Road Test Ready

This course is a condensed refresher designed for individuals preparing for the Alaska DMV road test. It is open to students who have previously completed Driver's Education (DE-081 and or DE-084), as well as members of the public who meet DMV eligibility requirements. Participants must be at least 16 years old with a valid Alaska leaner's permit. Students ages 16-17 must have held their permit for a minimum of 6 months with no violations prior to taking the road test. This restriction does not apply to students 18 years or older. The course reinforces essential driving knowledge and skills through targeted review of Alaska traffic laws, road signs, right-of-way, and defensive driving strategies. Students will participate in guided behind-the-wheel practice focusing on vehicle control, traffic navigation, parking maneuvers, and hazard recognition. 

Instruction is designed to designed to strengthen driving confidence, correct unsafe habits, and improve readiness for real-world driving conditions. The course concludes with a road test administered on the final day. Successful completion supports progression toward driver's license attainment.

DE 078 (lab): Online Alaska DMV Test Preparation

This course provides proctored administration of the Alaska DMV Class D General Knowledge test required to obtain a driver's permit. The examination is administered through the Alaska DMV Knowledge Test System (KTS) in accordance with Alaska DMV requirements.

DE 079 (lab): Online Alaska DMV Test Preparation

This is a self-paced online lab/tutorial that teaches a collection of skills and prepares students with a strong knowledge and understanding of the rules governing motor vehicle operation in the state of Alaska.

DE 080: Driver’s Education Test Preparation of Written Exam

Credits 1
This course will prepare the student to take the State of Alaska DMV written examination to obtain a basic driver learner’s permit or a restricted “off road” Class D license. Safe operation and driving practices will be stressed including driving under the influence and insurance laws, rules of the road and sign recognition.

DE 081: Behind the Wheel Driving

This course provides students with practical behind-the-wheel driving experience in preparation for the Alaska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Class D Road Test. Emphasis is placed on safe driving habits, proper vehicle handling, and the development of defensive driving skills. For students ages 16-17, road testing is contingent upon meeting Alaska DMV eligibility requirements, including minimum age and permit duration requirements (at least six months).

DE 082: Behind the Wheel Proctoring

This is a proctoring course that will allow the student to take the Alaska Department of Motor Vehicles driver's License Examination

DE 084: Basic Driver Education

This course prepares students for the Alaska DMV Class D General Knowledge test required to obtain a driver's permit and provides behind-the-wheel instruction in preparation for the Alaska DMV Class D Road Test. Students 18 years of age or older may complete the road test during the course. Students ages 16-17 may complete the road test only after meeting Alaska DMV eligibility requirements, including holding a valid learner's permit for at least six months.
